To lock an object, select it and choose the Object > Lock > Selection (Ctrl+L) menu command. Clicking on a locked
object with the Selection Tool will do nothing. Locked objects have a small lock icon in the Object Hierarchy palette.
i
Locking a group will automatically lock all the objects contained within the group also.
Locked objects are easily identiļ¬ ed in the Object Hierarchy palette.
The Object > Lock > Others command locks all objects except those that are selected. This is useful if you want to
work on a single object without selecting the rest.
Object > Lock > All (Alt+Ctrl+L) locks all objects in the scene.
Object > Unlock All (Shift+Ctrl+L) unlocks all objects in the scene.
Hiding Objects
Another option is to hide objects. Hidden objects will still be available in the Object Hierarchy palette, but they will
not be visible in the scene.
To hide an object, select it and choose the Object > Hide > Selection (Ctrl+H) menu command. Hidden objects will
not have a small eye icon appear in the Object Hierarchy palette.
