96 CHAPTER 8
The Inspector palette for the Entry Point object includes buttons to change the Entry Point’s location.
The Inspector palette also allows you to give the Entry Point a Name (if it’s not the default) and a Title. An
Atmosphere scene can have several Entry Points.
Using Anchors
Anchors are used to mark positions in space. With an Anchor object defi ned, you can script actions based on the
Anchor’s position. For example, you could position several Anchors that defi ne a path and then use a script to move
visitors along that path, from Anchor to Anchor.
i
Anchors are also available in the Solid Object Editor. Anchors that are created as part of a Solid Object will move
along with the other primitives in the Solid Object Group that contains them. An Anchor created in the Scene Editor
(a Scene Anchor, versus a Solid Object Anchor) will move along with the other Scene Objects in the Scene Group that
contains them.
Naming Scene Objects
All Scene Objects can be named by entering a name in the Name fi eld of the Inspector palette that appears when the
Scene Object is selected. You can also name objects in the Scene Hierarchy palette.
Locking Scene Objects
Locked objects cannot be selected in an editor. To lock a Scene Object, select the object and choose the Locked option
in the Inspector palette, or click on the Lock column in the Scene Hierarchy palette. A small lock icon
will appear.
