5.8 Linxs switchers LXRPS82A and LXRPS42A
VIDEOTEC
5.8.1 Description
The LXRPS82A/LXRPS42A switchers are products for professional applications in the security and
surveillance sector, and are intended for the management of video signals. The LXRPS82A and LXRPS42A
models differ only in the number of input videos it is possible to connect (8 and 4).
There are two output videos and one of these can be operated directly by a VCR. They can be used to control
the usual switching, alarm management and on screen menu programming. Refer to the switcher manual for
further relevant information.
5.8.2 Connection
T he communication cable is the standard cable (see § 3.3 - One keyboard per line: standard connection cable,
pag.16).
5.8.3 Configuring the switcher
T he switcher baudrate can be selected by means of the internal soldered jumper JP1:
jumper open: 9600 baud (default setting)
jumper shorted: 1200 baud
The power supply to the switcher should be disconnected before changing the baud rate. See the corresponding
manual.
5.8.4 Configuring the keyboard
During keyboard configuration, the COMUNICATIONS / VIDEO submenu (see § 22 - Video, pag.22),
should have the following settings:

(*) Even in the presence of more than one keyboard connected to the matrix the identification number of each
keyboard is irrelevant.
5.8.5 Operational test
If the keyboard is connected directly with the switcher configured as above, using the telephone cable supplied
with the keyboard, it should be immediately possible to switch the input videos using the video/telemetry
controls.
5.8.6 Matrix setup
Matrix setup can be changed by entering the corresponding menu. (see § 5.21.3 - OSM LINXS (VIDEOTEC),
pag.94).
