Operating instructions
6.1.1 Routine management of telemetry controls
Telemetry operations are divided into different types:
configuration operations (configuration of receiver/dome, preset, etc.)
manual movement operations (pan & tilt)
automatic movement operations (autopan, scan, patrol, etc.)
lens control operations
relay and auxiliary contact control operations.
The keyboard can be enabled or disabled to accept the request of each group of operations (see § 4.2.4.5 -
Functions, pag.34). If there is a request for an operation in a disabled group the display shows an error
message.
In the following sections the term “ receiver” refers to any device that is to receive telemetry controls.
6.1.2 Changing camera
6.1.2.1 Camera and receiver
The video signal from a camera may come from fixed type devices with no control whatsoever or mobile
devices (mounted on receivers or domes). In the latter case each device can only be controlled if it is
recognised by a unique address within the system.
When a camera is recalled any telemetry controls will be sent to the address associated with that camera.
6.1.2.2 Selecting a camera
T o be able to select a camera and operate its telemetry the camera must be accepted (see §4.2.4 - Accepted
values, pag.27).
Attempts to recall a disabled camera will cause the display of an error message.
The camera is recalled from the MAIN menu using the corresponding key which has the active camera
number. Insert the camera number and confirm with the ENTER key.
Flashing parameter (being changed)
Key for quitting change mode without changing the
parameter
DELETE key (deletes the last digit to be inserted)
Key for direct passage to monitor change
ENTER key ( to confirm changed value)
Information regarding accepted values and the type of data requested
6.1.2.3 Change address number associated with the camera
Telemetry controls are always directed towards the active camera shown on the display. But what physical
address does it correspond to? The basic system suggests direct assignment so that recalling camera 1
corresponds to the receiver with the physical address setting No. 1 and so on consecutively up to No. 10000.
It is possible to change the association between the logical address (camera number) and the physical address
(address setting on the dome for RS485).
