WELCOME Congratulations on purchasing the Addvalue Wideye™ iSavi-E satellite terminal.
GETTING STARTED STEP 1 Pull the handle of the micro-USB connector as shown to unplug the connector cable. STEP 3 Insert the Micro-SIM card with its gold-contacts facing down. Handle Connector Cable STEP 2 Remove the Ethernet adapter by pulling straight in the direction below. Note: Removing the ethernet adapter without unplugging the connector cable might damage the terminal. Note: Ensure your iSavi™ is off before removing or installing the SIM card.
STEP 5 Use a finger to press the latch and ensure that the transceiver is properly attached to the terminal. STEP 6 Insert the charger lead and then plug the adapter into a suitable power source. Your iSavi™ should be charged for 8 hours before first use. Charging will cease automatically once the battery is fully charged. EN You can check the battery level by pressing the ‘Battery Power Indicator Button’.
STEP 7 Tilt the terminal to 45 degrees. STEP 8 Attach the Ethernet adapter. STEP 9 Plug in the micro-USB connector. STEP 10 Place your iSavi™ outside in a position with an unobstructed view of the sky. PressENand hold the power button for 5 seconds to switch on your iSavi™. Leave it for at least 1 minute. Your iSavi™ must acquire a Global Positioning System (GPS) fix before you can connect to the network for the first time.
POINT THE TERMINAL AND CONNECT TO NETWORK Method 1: LED Visual Pointing Mode STEP 1 Make sure you place your iSavi™ in the open air, with an unobstructed view of the sky. Your iSavi™ needs to be pointed towards the satellite in the correct direction to ensure connection to the satellite network. Note: In some cases , you might encounter magnetic interference. Please refer to the next page for more information.
POINT THE TERMINAL AND CONNECT TO NETWORK LED Visual Pointing Mode Magnetic Interference Occasionally, if your iSaviTM is in close proximity to ferrous objects, the sensors will have difficulty determining its correct orientation. When this happens, the LEDs will flash in the following sequence : The following steps should resolve the issue. Step 1: Move your iSaviTM to a new location. Ensure your terminal is situated away from other electronic devices, metal objects and appliances that generate RF noise.
POINT THE TERMINAL AND CONNECT TO NETWORK Method 2: Audio Assisted Pointing Mode STEP 1 To switch into audio assisted pointing mode, press and hold the ‘Exit Pointing Mode Button’ for 5 seconds when your iSavi™ is in LED visual pointing mode . Exit Pointing Mode Button All 4 LEDs will be flashing green when the audio assisted pointing mode is activated. STEP 3 Turn the terminal slowly in clockwise or counterclockwise until the beeping frequency is maximized.
EN ACCESSING DATA STEP 1 STEP 4 Insert the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet adapter as shown below. Once your iSavi™ is connected to the network, it will automatically activate the data session. To stop access to data, press ‘Deactivate data connection’. STEP 2 Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable to your computer’s ethernet port A message confirming connection is displayed on your computer (Operating system dependent).
POWERING DOWN AND DETACHING THE BATTERY STEP 1 STEP 4 Remove the Ethernet cable from the ethernet adapter. The powering down process takes about 20 seconds. Wait until all the LEDs are off. STEP 5 Pull down the battery latch in the direction as shown. STEP 2 Battery latch Unplug the connector cable by using the handle. Remove the Ethernet adapter by pulling straight in the direction as shown. STEP 6 Remove the battery pack gently.
