WH-8-Z67-IDE JUMPER SETTING
ATX LED Two pin header for the IDE activity LED. Please connect to front panel drive activity LED. If
using the ATX enclosure, then connect it to the HDD LED connector.
ATX RESET Two pin headers to reset the Z67-IDE controller. If using the ATX enclosure, then it connects
to the RESET connector. Also this header is used to Program the FW on the DS89C430 Microcontroller.
+RESET ON Two pin header to enabled the reset signal from the H8 bus (-RESET) which resets the
Microcontroller. Not required when using the Z67-IDE externally.
+RESET OFF Two pin header to disabled the reset signal from the H8 bus (-RESET) which resets the
Microcontroller. Not required when using the Z67-IDE externally.
ATX POWER LED Three pin header for the ATX enclosure POWER LED.
TTL DEBUG Three pin header for the Microcontroller Serial Port. This is a TTL input/output and not to
be confused with the RS-232 serial port. Not used anymore after installing the MAX232 circuitry. Only
supported when the MAX232 IC is not present, and by using the USB to TTL converter by;
http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/Cables/USBTTLSerial.htm. Pin 1 = Ground (Black cable), Pin 2 =
Transmit (Yellow Cable) and Pin 3 = Receive (Orange cable).
RS-232 TO DB9K Three pin header for the Microcontroller Serial Port. This is an RS-232 serial port. This
port is used to capture configuration data when the Z67-IDE is power-on for the first time. Also it is used
to update the FW on the DS89C430 Microcontroller.

Pin 1 = Ground -> Connects to DB9 pin 5 (GND)
Pin 2 = Transmit Data -> Connects to DB9 pin 2 (RXD)
Pin 3 = Receive Data -> Connects to DB9 pin 3 (TXD)
PSEN Two pin header to Program the FW on the DS89C430 Microcontroller.
-EA Two pin header to Program the FW on the DS89C430 Microcontroller.
AT89S52 Resistor jumper (R19) to enable the 256 bytes of memory available within the 8155H-2 PPIO.
This feature is not supported at this time. Send email to norby@koyado.com for AT89S52 code support.
DS89C430 Resistor jumper (R4) to disable the 256 bytes of memory available within the 8155H-2 PPIO.
Default supported configuration with the DS89C430 Microcontroller.
PARITY ENABLED Two pin header reserved to connect to the SCSI controllers. Default is OFF, due to
the fact that Parity was not available on the XEBEC S-1410 Winchester disk controller. However the
WH-8-37 and the Z-89-67 controller does supports Parity and the this jumper must be inserted
in order to be able to boot HDOS.
ON-SD/OFF-DD - Two pin header to enable or disable scanning the Slave IDE drive. When the jumper is
not inserted, the FW will scan both IDE drives; Master and Slave. When the jumper is inserted, the FW
will only scan the IDE Master Drive. The only time this jumper is used is when the user has only one IDE
drive, which should be set as “Master”.
SD = Single Drive Configuration (Single IDE drive configured ONLY as Master)
