ZCPR.COD and ZCPR.REL should be gone. QSPUTSYS.COM and QSCONFIG.COM should be present.
6 - Depending on which floppy system you are using and which CP/M version you are using, copy the
appropriate BIOS.SYS files from your QSBIOS Distribution Disk(s) onto your QSBIOS system disk and
rename it to BIOS.SYS, deleting the existing BIOS.SYS file (may be STATed to SYS and will not show up
in a DIR):
BIOS0317.SYS - for Winchester and H-17 disks with CP/M 2.2.03
BIOS0337.SYS - for Winchester and H-37 disks with CP/M 2.2.03
BIOS0347.SYS - for Winchester and H-47 disks with CP/M 2.2.03
BIOS0417.SYS - for Winchester and H-17 disks with CP/M 2.2.04
BIOS0437.SYS - for Winchester and H-37 disks with CP/M 2.2.04
BIOS0447.SYS - for Winchester and H-47 disks with CP/M 2.2.04
For example, for the Z37 version using CP/M 2.2.04, you would PIP BIOS0437.SYS to your QSBIOS
system disk. Then REN BIOS.SYS=BIOS0437.SYS)
7 - Run QSPUTSYS by typing QSPUTSYS A:BIOS.SYS. Do not use any specifiers and DO NOT COPY BIOS.SYS.
Specify the A: drive (this should be the drive you booted from and the drive containing the QSBIOS
SYSTEM DISK). When finished, the QSBIOS SYSTEM DISK in the A: drive should be a bootable
QUIKSTOR CP/M disk.
8 - RESET the computer and reBOOT. The system should come up and sign on with the QSBIOS
message. If it did, all is well, continue. If not, go back to step 1 and start over again.
9 - It is now time to configure QSBIOS to the hardware in your system. Do this by running
QSCONFIG, and make the proper changes to represent your system floppies, printers, terminals,
etc. Remember, for the H8 computer you'll have to type 'spaces' for QSCONFIG to continue, just
like with the H/Z CONFIGUR.
10- If you are using any double sided or 96 tpi drives on your H -17 controller, run CONFIG80 tc
configure the BIOS for these drives.
11 - RESET the computer and re-boot. If all went well, the disk will boot and you can proceed with
the utilities. Note that further bootable disks are generated by using QSFORMAT.COM followed by
QSPUTSYS.COM; but you MUST be booted from a QUIKSTOR CP/M disk in order for QSPUTSYS and
QSFORMAT to properly function!
At this point you may want to PIP the needed files on your QSBIOS system disk. Files may include
PIP.COM, STAT.COM, QSASSIGN.COM, QSFORMAT.COM, FBAD, etc.
This completes the floppy disk SETUP portion of the QSBIOS installation procedure. Refer tc the
section PUTTING GP/M[ ON QUIKSTOR located at the end of this section, for instructions of getting
CP/M files and the SYSTEM on the Winchester. But first, please read the following sections on
the utility programs before attempting this, since you must be familiar with the QSASSIGN,
QSPUTSYS, QSFORMAT, and SASIXUxx utilities before you can successfully place the BIOS on the
Winchester.
