MINIMUM CF STORAGE CAPACITY
The Z67-IDE card supports 15 partitions and CP/M max storage capacity is 8MB per partition,
then in order to support all 15 partition a minimum of 1825 cylinders is required.
Based on empirical data the calculations are as follows;
1 cylinder = 8 tracks
1 track = 8KB of storage
1 cylinder will hold 64KB of storage (8 tracks x 8KB)
8MB of storage / 64KB = 125 cylinders
125 cylinders x 15 partitions = 1875 cylinders
Minimum recommended CF card cylinder size is as follows;
1875 cylinders + 127 spare cylinders = 2002 cylinders
For a 128MB CF card, the cylinder size available is 980 cylinders as shown below. This will only
support 7 partitions of 8MB each.
