PPENDIX C: MARTEK POWER SUPPLY
The LEDs are wired to the same logic as the DC_OK signal. Therefore, if the
DC_OK signal (normally high) is high the Green LED will be on and the
yellow LED will be off. If the DC_OK signal is low the Green LED will be off
and the Yellow LED will be on.
The fault logic and LEDs are powered by the house keeping voltage;
therefore, if the remote switch is off, the status of the DC_OK signal and the
LEDs should be valid. They also have a backup bias voltage that comes from
the outputs of the other power supplies (assuming more than one model
PS2266 per bay). This backup voltage comes into play when one of the
power supplies does not have an AC input (or a blown fuse). In this case, the
backup voltage will power the fault logic, the yellow LED of the bad power
supply should be on, and the green LED should be off (also DC_OK would be
low).
Basic Troubleshooting
If there is no DC voltage, follow this procedure:
1. Verify that the output of the power supply (PS2266) chassis is connected
properly to the Cuda chassis. The (–54Vdc) output of the PS2266 should
be connected to the –48Vdc terminal marked “feed” on the Cuda
chassis. Also make sure that the “RTN” on the PS2266, is connected to
the terminal marked (+48V return) on the Cuda chassis.
2. Reset the PS2266 by turning the ON/OFF switch, on the back top right,
marked “DC OUTPUT”, off. Wait ten seconds and then turn it back on.
If steps 1 and 2 above fail, follow this procedure:
1. With the AC cords unplugged, take all four PS2266 modules out of their
chassis and inspect them for damaged connectors. Also inspect the inside
of the chassis for damaged or shorted connector pins.
2. With the PS2266 modules removed check the power supply chassis with
an OHMmeter for a short to ground at the –54Vdc output terminal.
Yellow LED Designed so that it will always be the opposite of the green
LED. If the output voltage is above 40Vdc (+/- 5%) the
yellow LED should be off. If the output voltage is less than
40Vdc (+/-5%) the yellow LED should be on.
