PPENDIX A: CONFIGURING NETWORK ACCESS
IPChains
The Cuda 12000 is protected against unauthorized access to your network.
and uses IPChains to filter incoming packets at the individual protocol, port
and interface levels. IPChains is a tool available within the Linux operating
system. IPChains no longer allows FTP connections inbound to the CRAFT
port. Outbound FTP connections, via the CRAFT port, are still permitted.
Release 3.0 implements IPChains by the operating system software
installation function, which is done at the ADC plant before your chassis is
shipped. IPChains configuration may be modified within the Linux
environment; go to the following file:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/bas_ipchains_setup
If your site requires FTP to be allowed on the CRAFT port, then edit the
/bas/bin/basipchains_setup file and uncomment the FTP-related lines in
the file. After you edit the file you must reboot the Management module for
the changes to take affect.
