POWERING ON AND POWERING OFF
This chapter describes how to power on the Cuda 12000 and includes:
■ Powering On the System
■ Observing LED Activity
■ Understanding the Initialization Process
■ Powering Off the System
■ Basic Troubleshooting
Before proceeding with the procedures in this chapter, you should read
Chapter 2, “Preparing for Installation.”
If you are using the optional Martek Power Supply, refer to Appendix C,
“Martek Power Supply” for an explanation of the front panel LEDs and some
basic troubleshooting techniques.
Powering On the System
Use this procedure to power on the system:
1. Ensure that you have properly performed these tasks as described in this
guide:
■ Rack-mounted the fan tray, chassis, and plenums as described in
Chapter 3, “Rack-Mounting the System.”
■ Installed all required system modules as described in Chapter 4,
“Installing Modules.”
■ Cabled the system as described in Chapter 5, “Cabling the System.”
2. Power on the fan tray by activating the power source to which you have
connected it. The fan tray begins operating immediately. Three LEDs (one
for each fan tray unit within the assembly) illuminate green to indicate
the cooling unit is operating correctly.
