Taking Blood P r e s s u r e (Manual Mode)
When you want to take your patient's blood pre s s u r e using the auscultatory method with
a stethoscope, set the device to "MANUAL" mode.
Tu r n on the device by pressing "
I
" side of MAIN POWER SWITCH.
Move MODE SELECTOR upward and set the device to "MANUAL".
See page 13 for “AUTO” m e a s u r e m e n t .
Set the initial inflation value with PRESET PRESSURE KNOB.

P r ess SET/MEMORY button to confirm and/or select the
a p p r opriate
deflation rate.
The deflation rate is displayed at the lower right corner of the
segment display.
The deflation rate can be selected from 2.5, 4.5 and 6.5 mmHg.
The set deflation rate re t u r ns to the default value (2.5) when the
device is turned off .
Apply the cuff to patient's arm .
Choose the right size of cuff for
your patient. NOTE: Only these 3 cuff s
may be used in auto mode.
The lower edge of the cuff should be about 1” (2 to 3 cm)
above the inner elbow and BLADDER TUBE should be over the
inner part of the arm, positioning the ART E R Y MARK of the
c u f f over the brachial art e ry.
P r ess the surface of the cuff to make sure that the hook and
loop adhesive fastens secure l y.
The cuff should be wrapped loosely enough
so that two fingers can be placed between
the cuff and patient's arm. If the cuff is wrapped tighter or looser than this,
inaccurate blood pre s s u re readings may re s u l t .
If your patient is wearing a shirt that might restrict circulation in his/her upper arm or
he/she rolls his/her sleeve up over the upper arm, the blood flow will be re s t r i c t e d ,
p r eventing accurate measure m e n t .

The cuff is inflated automatically after zero settings.
P r essurization stops when pre s s u r e reaches the preset pre s s u r e value and
p r e s s u r e starts to descend.
H e a r t mark flashes in the segment LCD synchronizing detected pulse.
Deflation rate is displayed at the lower right corner of the segment LCD.
P r ess STA R T/STOP button whenever the measure m e n t
should be interru p t e d .
The device will stop during any course of measure m e n t
p r o c e d u r e and rapidly exhaust ai
r from the cuff .
Air is rapidly exhausted from the cuff as
m e a s u r ement completes.
Blood pre s s u r e and pulse rate are displayed.
Tu r n off the device by pressing "O" side of MAIN POWER SWITCH.
The device will go to the energy saver mode after appro x i m a t e l y
3 minutes if it is not turned off. See page 10.
Make sure your patient is relaxed, has taken at least 5 minutes of rest before measure m e n t
and refrains from talking or moving during measure m e n t .
C o n f i r m that the cuff is kept at the height of patient's heart during measure m e n t .
Do not execute repeated measurements for congestion of
blood could result in false
m e a s u r ement. Allow the patient's arm to rest for at least 5 minutes.
