Taking Blood P r e s s u r e (Auto Mode)
Tu r n on the device by pressing "
I
" side of MAIN POWER SWITCH.
Move MODE SELECTOR downward and set the device to "AUTO".
See page 15 for "MANUAL" measure m e n t .
Set the initial inflation value with PRESET PRESSURE KNOB.
Select the pre s s u r e approximately 30 to 40 mmHg above
expected systolic pre s s u re .
P r e s s u r e can be set between 100 mmHg and 280 mmHg.
Set the pre s s u r e at 180 mmHg if patient's systolic pre s s u re is
d i f ficult to pre d i c t .
The cuff is re - p r essurized to a h
igher value if the pre s e t
p r e s s u r e is too low for blood pre s s u r e to be taken during cuff
d e f l a t i o n .
If cuff inflation was not sufficient, press and hold down
S TA R T/STOP button once deflation has started and the cuff
is pressurized again. Pressurization will continue while the
button is pressed. Pre s s u re does not exceed 290 mmHg.
P r ess STA R T/STOP button when blood pre s s u r e is taken and air
is rapidly exhausted from the cuff .
Air is also rapidly exhausted from the cuff when pre s s u re
descends to 30 mmHg.
Tu r n off the device by pressing "
O
" side of MAIN POWER SWITCH.
The device will be in the energy saver mode approximately after
3 minutes if it is not turned off. See page 10.
Make sure your patient is relaxed, has taken at least 5 minutes of rest before
m e a s u r ement, and refrains from talking or moving during measure m e n t .
C o n f i r m that the cuff is kept at the height of patient's heart during measure m e n t .
Do not execute repeated measurements for congestion of blood could re s u l t
in false measurement. Allow the patient's
arm to rest for at least 5 minutes.
Apply the cuff and stethoscope to the patient's arm in the same
manner as the usual auscultatory method.
P r ess STA R T/STOP button.
The cuff is inflated automatically after zero settings.
P r essurization stops when pre s s u r e reaches the preset pre s s u r e value and
p r e s s u r e starts to descend.
Deflation rate is displayed at the lower right corner of the segment LCD.
NOTE: Press STA R T/STOP button whenever the measure m e n t
should be interrupted. The device will rapidly exhaus
t air from the cuff .
