GeneralSafetyPrecautions
CAUTION! Wetconditionsincreasethepotentialforreceivinganelectricalshockwheninstallingorusing
electrically powered equipment. To prevent electrical shock, never install or use electrical
equipmentinawetlocationorduringalightningstorm.
CAUTION! ThissystemisaRFTransmitterandcontinuous lyemitsRFenergy.Maintainaminimum8
‐inch
(20 cm) clearance from the antenna while the system is operating. Whenever possible, shut
downtheRANbeforeservicingtheantenna.
NOTE: RAUsaresuitableforuseinenvironmentalairspaceinaccordancewithSection300‐22(c)ofthe
National Electrical Code, and Sections 2‐128, 12‐010(3) and 12‐100
of the Canadian Electrical
Code,Part1,CSAC22.1.
CAUTION! InstallRAUsinindoorlocationsonly.Donotconnectanantennainstalledinanoutdoorlocation
toaRAU,unlessitisinanapprovedAOCweatherproofNEMA4housing.
CAUTION! AttachallRAUssecurelytoastationaryobject(thatis,awall,pole,
orceilingbrackets).Tomount
aRAUsecurelytoawall,ceilingbracket,orpole,use#6diameterfastenersinthefourslotted
mountingholes.
CAUTION! Dothefollowingtomaintainproperventilation:
• Keepatleast76mm(3‐inch)clearancearoun dthe RAU.
• DonotstackRAUsontopofeachother.
• Always mount the RAU with the solid face (containing the mounting holes) against the
mountingsurface.
NOTE: YoucanplacetheRAU,withoutitsfasteninghardware,onaflatsurface,suchas ashelf,desk,
cabinet,oranyotherhorizontalsurfacethatallowsstableplacement,withthemountingbase
facingdowntothemountingsurface.
CAUTION! IfinstallingtheRAUonaflatsurface,thesurfacemustbeable
toholdaminimum7‐poundload
securely.
Dothefollowing,intheorderpresented,tomounttheRAUsandantennas:
1 MountallMRAUandSRAUsinthelocationsmarkedonthefloorplans.
2 Installthepassiveantennasaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstallationinstructions.
NOTE: It is common practice to install passive antennas below the ceiling. If you install a passive
antennaabovetheceiling,whenestimatingtheantennacoveragearea,accountforadditional
lossduetotheceilingmaterial.
