UsethefollowingproceduretoremoveandreplacethePRUFanModule:
1 ReadallinstructionsandproceduresofthissectionpriortobeginningworktoreplaceFanModule.
2 OrderaPrismRemoteUnitFanReplacementKit,catalognumberFWP-RUFAN001.
3 NotifytheNOCoralarmmonitoringsystemoperatorthattheFanModuleisbeingreplaced,whichwill
generatefanandpoweralarmsfortheaffectedPRU.
4 PowerdownthePRUandwaituntilthefansspindowntoastop.
5 PutonanESDwriststrapandensurethatitmakesmaximumcontactwithbareskinthroughoutthis
procedure.ESDgroundingstrapsareavailablewithbananaplugs,metalspringclips,oralligatorclips.To
ensureadequategrounding,theESDwriststrapshouldbeconnectedtoanybaremetalsurfaceofthePRU
chassis,ortotheDual-GroundConnectoratthebottomoftheunit.Forfurtherinformationonthe

"PortsandConnectors”onpage7.
NOTE: It may be necessary to scrape a small section of the coating off the Prism Remote Unit chassis to ensure
connection to a bare metal surface.
6 LoosenthetwoscrewsthatsecuretheFanModule
CoveratthetopofthePRUchassistothefrontofthe
enclosureasshowninthegraphictotheright.
7 Openthefancoverbyrotatingitupandbackonits
hinges.
8 DothefollowingbeforeyoulifttheFanModuleoutof
thePRUchassis:
a Inspect,cleananddrythetopsurfacesurrounding
thefanconnector.
b LoosenthetwocaptivescrewsthatsecuretheFan
ModuletothePRUchassis.
c DisconnecttheFanModulepowercablebyrotating
itscouplingnutcounter-clockwiseuntilthe
receptaclecanbeliftedoffitsbulkheadplug.
