CAUTION! Electro‐Static Discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. To prevent ESD damage,
always wear an ESD wrist strap when working with the IRU or when handling any of its
components.ConnectthegroundwireontheESDwriststraptoan earthgroundsourcebefore
touchingtheIRUoranyof
itscomponents.Wearthewriststraptheentiretimethatyouwork
withtheIRUanditscomponents.
CAUTION! PlacethePRismRFModulesinanti‐staticpackingmaterialwhentransportingorstoringthem.
UnpackandInspecttheRFModule
1 UnpackandinspecttheRFModule.
a Inspecttheexterioroftheshippingcontainer(s)forevidenceofroughhandlingthatmay
havedamagedthecomponentsinthecontainer.
b Unpackeachcontainerwhilecarefullycheckingthecontentsfordamageandverifywith
thepackingslip.
c Ifdamageisfoundorpartsaremissing,fileaclaimwiththecommercialcarrierandnotify
TECustomerService(see
“ContactingTEConnectivity”onpage43).Savethedamaged
cartonsforinspectionbythecarrier.
d Saveallshippingcontainersforuseiftheequipmentrequiresshipmentatafuturedate.
CAUTION! Handle the RF Modu le with care during installation. Be especially careful to not damage the
thermal‐interfacematerial(TIM),whichisattachedtotheLPA.IftheTIMisdamaged,theLPA
canoverheat.BeforeinstallingtheRFModule,checktoseeiftheheatsinkmaterialisgougedor
cracked. If
the TIM is damaged, do not install the RF Module and contact TE Connectivity for
assistance(see“ContactingTEConnectivity”onpage43forcontactinformat ion).
CAUTION! Ifthethermal‐interfacematerialisdamaged,theinstallationanduseoftheRFModulemayvoid
thewarrantyoftheRFModule.
