CAUTION! Electro‐Static Discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. To prevent ESD damage,
always wear an ESD wrist strap when working with the IRU or when handling any of its
components.ConnectthegroundwireontheESDwriststraptoan earthgroundsourcebefore
touchingtheIRUoranyof
itscomponents.Wearthewriststraptheentiretimethatyouwork
withtheIRUanditscomponents.
CAUTION! PlacethePrismRFModulesinanti‐staticpackingmaterialwhentransportingorstoringthem.
UnpackandInspecttheRFModule
1 Inspecttheexterioroftheshippingcontainer(s)forevidenceofroughhandlingthatmayhave
damagedthecomponentsinthecontainer.
2 Unpackeachcontainerwhilecarefullycheckingthecontentsfordamageandverifywiththe
packingslip.
3 Ifdamageisfoundorpartsaremissing,fileaclaimwiththecommercialcarrierandnotifyTE
CustomerService(see
“ContactingTEConnectivity”onpage46).Savethedamagedcartons
forinspectionbythecarrier.
4 Saveallshippingcontainersforuseiftheequipmentrequiresshipmentatafuturedate.
CAUTION! Handle the RF Module with care during installation. Be especially careful to not damage the
thermal‐interfacematerial(TIM),whichisattachedto theLPA.IftheTIMisdamaged,theLPA
canoverheat.BeforeinstallingtheRFModule,checktoseeiftheheatsinkmaterialisgougedor
cracked. If
theTIM is damaged, do notinstall the RF Module and contact TEConnectivity for
assistance(see“ContactingTEConnectivity”onpage46forcontactinformat ion).
CAUTION! Ifthethermal‐interfacematerialisdamaged,theinstallationanduseoftheRFModulemayvoid
thewarrantyoftheRFModule.
