ThefollowingsectionsguideyouthroughtheinstallationofanRFModuleintoaPRUchassis.The
processtoinstallthefourdifferenttypesofRFModulesisbasicallythesame;however,
differencesarenotedandshouldbefollowed.
NOTE: Inthefollowingsteps,theRFcablesandconnectorsarereferredtoasMODNTX0/RX0andas
MODNTRX1whereNequalsA,B,C,orD.

CAUTION! This is restricted access equipment and only qualified service personnel should service and
operatethisequipmentusingappropr iatetools.
CAUTION! Wetconditionsincreasethepotentialforreceivinganelectricalshockwheninstallingorusing
electrically‐powered equipment. To prevent electrical shock, never install or use electrical
equipmentinawetlocationor
duringalightningsto rm.
CAUTION! Alwaysallowsufficientfiberlengthtopermitroutingofpatchcordsandpigtailswithoutsevere
bends.Fiberopticpatch cordsorpigtailsmaybepermanentlydamagedifbentorcurvedtoa
radiusoflessthan2inches(5.1cm).
CAUTION! ExteriorsurfacesofthePrismRemoteUnit
maybehot.Usecautionduringservicing.
CAUTION! Servicepersonnelmustconfirmthattheperimetergasketanddoor‐to‐doorgasketsareinplace
whenclosingthePrismdoorsafterservicing.
CAUTION! ThisequipmentusesaClass1LaseraccordingtoFDA/CDRHrules.Laserradiationcanseriously
damagetheretinaoftheeye.
Donotlookintotheendsofanyopticalfiber.Donotlookdirectly
into the optical transceiver of any digital unit or exposure to laser radiation may result. An
opticalpowermetershouldbeusedtoverifyactivefibers.AprotectivecaporhoodMUSTbe
immediately placed over any
radiating transceiver or optical fiber connector to avoid the
potentialofdangerousamountsofradiationexposure.Thispracticealsopreventsdirtparticles
fromenteringtheadapterorconnector.
CAUTION! Thissystem is an RFTransmitterandcontinuouslyemitsRFenergy.Maintain3foot(91.4cm)
minimum clearance from the antennawhile the
system is operating.Whereverpossible,shut
downtheRANbeforeservicingtheantenna.
