Adding an SNMP Trap Manager

1 In the System Menu bar, click System Configuration > Set SNMP Trap Managers.

2 In the Add New Trap Manager panel, do the following:

a In the IP Address box enter the IP address of the device that you want to add

as a trap receiver. The address must be in the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format.

b In the Port box, enter the port on the device that will receive the traps. The

normal and recommended SNMP Trap port is 162.

c In the Community box, enter a password that will allow access to the device.

The Community password must be between 6 and 20 alphanumeric characters

(usually public or private).

d In the Version list, select the trap version for the SNMP Trap Manager that

you are registering (V1 or V2c).
