INSTALLINGEXPANSIONHUBS

TheExpansionHub(2Uhigh)canbeinstalledinastandard19in.(483mm)equipmentrackor

inawall‐mountableequipmentrackthatisavailablefromTE.Allowaclearanceof76mm(3in.)

frontandrearand51mm(2in.)sidesforaircirculation.Notopandbottomclearanceisrequired.

CAUTION! InstallExpansionHubsinindoorlocationsonly.

NOTE: Thefollow

ingprocedures assume thatthesystemis newfrom the factoryand thatitha s not

beenprogrammedwithbands.Ifyouarereplacingcomponentsinapre‐installedsystemwith

either new units or units that may already be program med (for example, re‐using units from

anothersystem),referto“ReplacingFu

sionWidebandComponents”onpage175.

Dothefollowingtoinstallthehubinarack:

1 Confirmthatthemountingscrewsm

atchtherack’sthreads.(TheExpansionHubisshipped

with#10‐32mountingscrews;anothercommonrackthreadis#12‐24.)

2 Insertspringnutsintotherackwhere

neededoruseexistingthreadedholes.

3 PlacetheExpansionHubintotherackfromthefront.

4 Aligntheflan

geholeswiththespringnutsinstalledinStep2.

5 Insertthe

mountingscrewsintheappropriatepositionsintherack.

6 Tightent

hemountingscrews.

CAUTION! Themaximumweighttherackcanholdis22.5kg(50lbs).

NOTE: Thera

ck(PN4712)is305mm(12in.)deep.TheExpansionHubis381mm(15in.)deep.

1 MovetherackmountingbracketsontheExpansionHub,asshowninFigure35)tothecenter

mountingpositiontoallowforthe76mm(3in.)rearc

learancethatisrequired.

2 Attachthe

equipmentracktothewallusingthescrewsthatareprovided.

3 The

rackmustbepositionedsothattheExpansionHubwillbeinahorizontalpositionwhen

itisinstalled.

NOTE: Ifwallstudspacingof16”isnotavailable,TErecommendsthat3/4”plywoodbepre‐installedto

thewall.Youcanthenattachthebrackettotheplywoodusingthewoodscrews.
