5. Using the transceptTenantGenTwoTable.transceptTenantRucYAttenOffset field in the
Tenant OAM MIB, adjust the RUC attenuator offset until the “per carrier” PA output is
as shown in the Standard Digivance CXD-4XD-G1 Configuration Table shown above.
(+/- 1.0 dB)
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for all RANs for this Tenant Sector.
7. Using the transceptTenantOAMTable.transceptTenantChannelXVal fields of the Tenant
OAM MIB, enable all RF channels.
8. Using the transceptTenantCalTable.transceptTenantRanYOutputPower fields of the
Tenant OAM MIB, examine the PA output power on all RANs. Ensure that with all
carriers present that the power for each is correct. The total power is calculated by
10*log10(#carriers) + single carrier power. Using the transceptTenantGenTwoTable.
transceptTenantRucYAttenOffset field in the Tenant OAM MIB, adjust the RUC
attenuator to perform final adjustments with all carriers present.
9. With a single CW input at the BIM, measure the difference between the FSC RMS power
(transceptTenantFscPowerTable.transceptTenantFsc1OutputPower) and the RAN PA
output power (transceptTenantCalTable.transceptTenantRanYOutputPower) in the
Tenant OAM MIB. Record this value in the RAN Measured Gain entry
(transceptTenantOAMTable.transceptTenantRanXMeasuredForwardGain) for that RAN.
This is now the “ideal gain” for this tenant in this RAN.
The forward balancing is complete for this Tenant Sector. Record RUC attenuator values and
PA Calibration Setpoint values (transceptTenantPowerAdjustmentTable.transceptTenant
RanYSingleCarrierSetpoint) for future use.
3.2 Reverse Path Balancing
The reverse gain indicates how much gain the Digivance CXD will give to a reverse path
signal before presenting it to the base station (e.g. a –100 dBm signal at the RAN input will be
–90 at the input to the BTS when Reverse Gain is set to 10 dB).
Table 4-4. Reverse Gain Settings
REVERSE GAIN (DB) COMMENT
+30 Bypass BTS reverse path gain included in
duplexer (e.g. Nortel TDMA Base Stations)
+10 Normal setting, for dedicated BTS sector
0 Shared BTS tower sector, 3dB impact on

-10 Shared BTS tower sector, no impact on
BTS tower coverage, 3dB impact on
