3.1.2 HDC Setup
This section outlines the procedure for balancing the Hub forward output.
1. Using the transceptTenantOAMTable.transceptTenantChannelXVal fields of the Tenant
OAM MIB, enable the first (X=1) BTS RF channel (disable all other channels by
entering zero into Tenant O&M MIB)
2. Record RMS power reported by the FSC in the transceptTenantFscPowerTable.
transceptTenantFsc1OutputPower field of the Tenant OAM MIB.
3. Disable current channel and enable next RF channel
4. Repeat steps 2-3 for all remaining BTS carriers (up to 8).
5. From recorded power for all RF channels, find the highest power level.
6. Enable highest power RF channel (disable all other RF channels)
7. Using the transceptTenantMoreAttenTable.transceptTenantBimForwardAttenZOffset
fields in the Tenant OAM MIB, change BIM attenuator offsets to make highest RF
channel power equal to –10 in the FSC
8. For all previously recorded RF channels, find the lowest power level.
9. Enable lowest power RF channel. Record FSC RMS power. This is the Target FSC
Power.
10. Enabling all RF channels (individually), add FSC digital attenuation using the
transceptTenantCalTable.transceptTenantFscAttenX fields in the Tenant OAM MIB until
each RF channel is set to the Target FSC Power (+/- 0.5dB)
This completes the Hub Forward Balancing. Record HDC and FSC attenuator settings for
future use.
3.1.3 RAN Setup
This section outlines the procedure for balancing the RAN forward output, where X is the
RAN ID of the RAN being balanced:
1. Using the the transceptTenantOAMTable.transceptTenantChannelXVal field of the
Tenant OAM MIB, enable the first BTS carrier (first Tenant channel)
2. Using the transceptTenantPowerAdjustmentTable.transceptTenantRanYSifPower field in
the Tenant OAM MIB, copy the SIF power value into the
transceptTenantPowerAdjustmentTable.transceptTenantRanYSingleCarrierSetpoint field
of the Tenant OAM MIB for the first tenant RAN.
3. Using the transceptTenantOAMTable.transceptTenantRanYDisable field of the Tenant
OAM MIB, enable the PA for the first RAN on desired Tenant Sector (there may be up to
8 RANs on a given Tenant Sector).
4. Using the transceptTenantCalTable.transceptTenantRanYOutputPower field of the
Tenant OAM MIB, measure the PA output power.
