key is 2.5 x 2.5 cm.

A LightWRITER SL35 with a very large
"Big Keys" keyboard built in. The keys
are white with black letters to provide
high visual contrast. The Big Keys is
suitable for users with visual or motor
limitations who require large keys for
typing.

Speech:
The LightWRITER SL38 is similar to
the LightWRITER SL35, but
uses Acapela speech instead of
DECtalk speech. It is suitable for
people who can use a keyboard to type
their messages. The LightWRITER
features a dual display screen: one for
the user to view when preparing
messages and one visible to the
listener. The display is bright and easy
to see.

Use spelling to prepare messages,
then press the Replay button to speak
the message.
Speed up your rate of communication
with:
• Abbreviation Expansion - speak
commonly used phrases by pressing a
logical sequence of keys. For
example, the letters M and N in
combination could be programmed to
say the message "My name is John.
• "Text Prompting" - similar to word
prediction, the LightWRITER tries to
complete the word you are typing. For
example, if you type the letters H-O-L,
the LightWRITER might guess the
word "holiday."
• Pre-store longer memos of up to 250
characters.
