users. This version of the Macaw 5
communication device features a
keyboard with 128 message keys.

standard, but can be set up to operate
with 1, 2, 4 or 10 larger message
squares.
• Linear or row/column scanning using
1 or 2 switches.

help prevent the user accidentally
pressing a key more than once.
Access:
Play back a message by pressing one
of the 40 message keys. 
Turning on the "Message Builder"
feature allows you to create a whole
sentence by pressing a series of
different message keys, then pressing
"speak" to hear the whole sequence.
The MessageMate 40 with Levels lets
you record up to 4 levels with 36
messages per level.

Create your own overlays with symbols
or words to represent each stored
message.
Symbols:
Record your own messages. Recording
time varies depending on the model.
Available options are: 

• No levels with 150 seconds
recording. 
• 4 levels with 300 or 600 seconds
recording.
Speech:
The Message Mate 40 is a recorded
speech device that is compact and
portable, yet sturdy. Choose between
the models with 40 message keys on a
single level, or two 40 key models with
4 levels for message storage.
