DESCRIPTION The trantor module provides low-level interface routines between the common disk/tape

I/O subsystem and the Trantor T348 Mini-SCSI-Plus parallel host bus adapter. The Tran-

tor T348 is a SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) host bus adapter that plugs into a

parallel port (rather than a bus slot). It offers lower performance than other host bus

adapters, but has the advantageof being compatible with notebook computers which do

not accept a standard host bus adapter card.

CONFIGURATION Auto conﬁguration code determines whether the adapter is present at the conﬁgured

address. Auto conﬁguration code also determines what types of devices are attached to

the adapter.

The trantor driver attempts to initialize itself in accordance with the information found in

the conﬁguration ﬁle, trantor.conf. The relevant user conﬁgurable items in this ﬁle are as

follows:

reg reg consists of a 3-tuple of integers. The ﬁrst integer is the bus

I/O address of the parallel port the Trantor T348 is connected to.

The second and third integerare usually 0. See sysbus(4) for

more information.

ioaddr The busI/O address of the parallel port the Trantor T348 is con-

nected to.

intr The interrupt request (IRQ) level of the parallel port the Trantor

T348 is connected to. See sysbus(4) for more information.
