3 Supported hardware
This section contains detailed information about the hardware and hardware standards suppor-
ted by HDShredder. Furthermore, there are special references to be found regarding the usage
of certain device types.
3.1 Overview
Subsequent, you find a listing of the hardware requirements concerning the hardware used to
run HDShredder as well as additionally supported devices. Please note that support for a cer-
tain hardware may depend on the edition used (1.4 Edition overview).
3.1.1 Hardware requirements
• PC 80586 or higher, 90 MHz, 64 MB RAM, VGA (optimal: VESA support)
• keyboard: standard, PS/2 or USB
• mouse: serial, PS/2 or USB (optionally, can be operated with keyboard only)
• bootable floppy or CD drive
