You only have five seconds to press F6 during the install startup. A
prompt appears at the bottom of the screen when the F6 key is active. If
you do not press F6 at this time, you must restart the Windows 2000
install process to complete the procedure correctly.
Upgrading Windows NT to Windows 2000
Install the Adaptec controllers and storage devices according to the
instructions in Installing and Configuring Hardware on page 9. For
specific information, see the Installation Guide for your controller.
Adding to an Existing Windows 2000 System

Install the Adaptec controller and storage devices according to
instructions in Installing the Controller on page 15. For more
information, see the Installation Guide for your controller.

Install the Storage Manager software and I

O driver from the
Adaptec CD-ROM Autorun installation utility.
If the Setup utility does not start automatically, select Start–Run
and enter d:\autorun.exe, where d is the letter assigned to your
CD-ROM drive.

If necessary, the Windows New Hardware Wizard will guide you
through the rest of the process. Follow the instructions displayed.
