1. Introduction Dear customer, Thank you for choosing the ADAM Audio A7X Nearfield monitor! ADAM loudspeakers are built for maximum quality reproduction and audio perfection. With the A7X you have selected a precise, high-resolution speaker system that allows you to both evaluate and enjoy audio recordings. This monitor meets highest expectations in sound quality and craftsmanship. This manual is intended to provide you with information about your new ADAMs.
2. Quick Start 2.1 Important Information for set up After having unpacked your loudspeaker, please allow the system to acclimate to the temperature of the room for approximately an hour. It is important to ensure the speakers sit firmly on a solid surface! We recommend that you retain the original packaging, as it is the best way to guarantee safe transportation should the need to do so arise. Please note that the loudspeakers will take some break-in time to achieve optimum sonic performance. 2.
3. Speaker Placement Please make sure that there are no obstacles in the way from the monitor to your ears. You should be able to see the speakers completely. 3.1 Vertical set up The A7X has been designed for a vertical set up. The speakers must be positioned on a solid surface or a stand. Please note that vibrating parts of nearby objects can mask the sound. fig 1: vertical set up A7X A7X 3.
3. Speaker Placement 3.3 Tweeter at the height of ears The Tweeter should be positioned approximately at the height of your ears. In case you need to position the speaker in a significant lower or higher position, the monitor should be angled accordingly. fig 3: Tweeter at height of ears / speaker angling 3.

Speaker Placement 3.5 Surround Placement Speaker positioning for multi-channel stereo purposes is ideally based on a circle with speakers placed at 0° (Center), 30° (Front Right), 110° (Rear Right), 250° (Rear Left), 330° (Front Left), with the listener being the circle’s center (Radius between 0.7-2.0 m). This ITU recommended configuration may vary depending on the purpose of the control room (music or film).
4. Speaker Adjustment 4.1 Controls On the rear side you will find controls that IN-/ OUTPUTS allows detailed fine-tuning of your loudspeakers to your particular room acoustics OUTPUT and personal listening preferences. The STEREOLINK following tips are intended to assist you at using the controls in the best manner. INPUT Please note that using the controls may have a great impact on the overall sound characteristics of your loudspeakers.
5. Troubleshooting All ADAM products are designed and manufactured to the highest quality standards. However, if any problems with your speaker occur, we recommend to proceed as follows: 5.1 Problem: The LED shows normal operation (green) but there is either no or only a distorted audio signal. If both (all) speakers are affected, the reason can probably be found within the signal path. If only one speaker is affected, the problem will probably be within this speaker.
6. Maintenance Please switch the loudspeaker off before cleaning! Please note that the diaphragms build up a magnetic field. Do not ply with magnetic items at close range to the diaphragms. Please make sure that no liquids get inside the cabinet. Do not spray any fluids on the speaker. Do not use a wet cloth for cleaning. Do not use flammable or acidly chemicals for cleaning. Do not touch the membranes of the loudspeakers. We recommend using a lint-free, damp cloth for cleaning.

1. Einleitung Sehr verehrte Kundin, sehr verehrter Kunde, wir gratulieren Ihnen zu Ihrer Entscheidung für ein Produkt aus dem Hause ADAM Professional Audio! Sie haben ein professionelles und hoch auflösendes Aktivsystem erworben, das sowohl zur zuverlässigen Beurteilung von Tonaufnahmen als auch für bestmögliche Wiedergabequalität entworfen und gefertigt worden ist.
2. Quick Start zur Inbetriebnahme 2.1 Allgemeine Hinweise zur Inbetriebnahme Nach dem Auspacken und der Aufstellung des Lautsprechers sollte dieser ca. eine Stunde unangeschlossen ‚ruhen’, um sich der jeweiligen Raumtemperatur anpassen zu können. Bitte beachten Sie, dass dieser Monitor, abhängig von Pegel und Nutzungsfrequenz, einige Tage benötigt, um seine optimale Klangqualität zu erreichen.
3. Empfehlungen zur Aufstellung Vermeiden Sie Hindernisse im Wege des Schalls zu Ihren Ohren. Sie sollten die Lautsprecher komplett sehen können! Vermeiden Sie ferner eine Aufstellung neben stark schallreflektierenden Objekten. 3.1 Vertikale Aufstellung Der A7X wurde für eine vertikale Aufstellung konstruiert. Stellen Sie den Lautsprecher auf festen Untergrund oder befestigen Sie ihn auf einem Ständer. Mitschwingende Teile können den Klang maskieren, selbst wenn es nicht offensichtlich „scheppert“.
3. Empfehlungen zur Aufstellung 3.3 Hochtöner in Ohrenhöhe Positionieren Sie die Hochtöner möglichst in Ohrenhöhe. Für den Fall, dass Sie die Monitore deutlich über- oder unterhalb Ohrhöhe platzieren müssen, sollten diese entsprechend angewinkelt werden. Abbildung 3: Hochtöner in Ohrenhöhe 3.4 Zweikanal Stereo Die gemeinhin günstigste Lautsprecheraufstellung im Zweikanal-Stereobetrieb ist das so genannte ‚Stereodreieck’. Die Lautsprecher und der Hörer stehen bzw.
3. Empfehlungen zur Aufstellung 3.5 Mehrkanal Stereo (Surround) Die Aufstellung der Lautsprecher in einem Mehrkanal-Stereo-Setup sollte sich idealerweise an einem Kreis orientieren. Die Lautsprecher werden an den Winkelpositionen 0° (Center), 30° (Front Rechts), 110° (Rear Rechts), 250° (Rear Links) und 330° (Front Links) platziert. Der Zuhörer sitzt in der Kreismitte, die in diesem Fall einen Radius zwischen 0,7 und 2,0 Meter aufweisen sollte.
4. Lautsprechereinstellungen 4.1 Das Kontrollpanel Auf der Rückseite finden Sie ein IN-/KontrollOUTPUTS panel, das Ihre Lautsprecher an die jeweiOUTPUT lige Raumakustik bzw. den persönlichen Geschmack anzupassen ermöglicht. STEREOLINK Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Nutzung dieser INPUT Einstellmöglichkeiten den Klang Ihrer Lautsprecher erheblich beeinflussen können.
5. Fehlerbehebung Alle ADAM Produkte werden nach höchsten Qualitätsstandarts gefertigt. Sollte wider Erwarten dennoch ein Problem auftauchen, empfehlen wir, zunächst folgende Maßnahmen durchzuführen: 5.1 Problem: Die Leuchtdiode zeigt normalen Betrieb an (grün), es wird aber kein oder nur ein gestörtes Signal ausgegeben: Betrifft das Problem beide Lautsprecher, liegt die Ursache zumeist innerhalb der Signalkette; betrifft es nur einen Lautsprecher, ist wahrscheinlich dieser die Fehlerquelle. a.
6. Wartung und Pflege Schalten Sie vor jeder Reinigung die Lautsprecher am vorderseitigen Netzschalter aus! Verhindern Sie, dass Flüssigkeiten jeglicher Art ins Gehäuseinnere gelangen. Sprühen Sie weder Flüssigkeiten direkt auf das Gerät, noch nutzen Sie nasse Reinigungslappen. Bitte verwenden Sie keine brennbaren und ätzenden Chemikalien zur Reinigung dieses Produkts. Vermeiden Sie jede Berührung mit den Membranen der Lautsprecher.
9. Konformitätsbescheinigung Wir, die ADAM Audio GmbH mit dem eingetragenen Firmensitz in der Ederstr. 16, 12059 Berlin, Deutschland, erklären hiermit eigenverantwortlich, dass das Produkt A7X den folgenden Normen entspricht: EN 61000-6-1 : 2001 EN 61000-6-3 : 2001 EN 55020 : 2002 EN 55013 : 2001 Ebenfalls stimmt es überein mit der EU General Product Safety 2001/95/EC, und richtet sich nach folgendem Standard: EN 60065 : 2002.
10. Garantie Die ADAM Audio GmbH gewährt auf Ihre aktiven Lautsprecher eine beschränkte Garantie von 5 Jahren. Alle Produkte werden nach den höchsten Qualitätsstandards entwickelt und hergestellt.
