Step 8 - Saving IRS Files
Once a source has been completely
populated with IR codes and appro-
priately labeled, you can save the
entire source configuration as an
IRS file (IR Source file). This is criti-
cal in that once you have a library of
IR files complete with IRS files, you
can load an IRL in minutes. To save
a source file as a reusable IRS file:
1 Place the mouse cursor over the
source (Src #) button and right
click.
2 Select Save Source.
3A “Save As” window will appear.
Using the window on the right,
navigate to the source folder for
this device. IRS files should re-
side with the sources IR codes.
4 Name this file with no more than
eight characters followed by the
ending “.irs”. All IR source files
end in “.irs”. In this example, we
are calling this file “DVD.irs”.
Step 9 - Loading IRS Files
Because IRS files contain all button
maps and feedback names, they are
the ideal way to load an IRL from a
proven and tested IR library. To load
a source file:
1 Place the mouse cursor over the
source (Src #) button and right
click.
2 Select Load Source.
3A “Open” window will appear. Us-
ing the window on the right, navi-
gate to the source folder for this
device and then select the IRS
file.
The entire source file will now load
onto this IRL port. If you already
have developed an IRL library, you
can repeat these steps for other
sources on your IRL.
