HOME THEATER SETUP FINAL INPUT
The HTR-2400 is essentially two systems in one: 1) An eight zone multi-room system with up
to eight source components, 2) A home theater zone that can play the eight multi-room
system’s sources plus additional sources specific to only the theater zone.
In respect to source selection, the home theater
is independent of the rest of the house. One can
select to share all of the house sources with the
theater or share just a few (or none), along with
the theater specific sources.
ADA provides up twenty “Input Labels” for the
theater zone. The first eight mirror the house
sources while the remaining twelve input labels
are for other devices. The grid to the right shows
ADA’s factory default source names for both the
home and theater.
While it is possible to connect an additional eight digital audio sources and one multi-channel
audio source (SACD or DVD Audio) to the HTR-2400, for a total of nineteen inputs, most
typical home theater systems will select from far fewer sources (inputs). Also, in some cases,
not all of the eight multi-room inputs will be used.
To make the home theater system easier to use, it is possible to limit the number of sources
available in the home theater. This feature is called “Final Input”. It is best used in conjunc-
tion with the HT Source setup which permits you to relabel the sources for the theater. Final
inputs can be added back later as new sources are added to the system.
For example, let’s say the multi-room sources do not include an Auxiliary source. The theater
accesses all of the seven house sources plus a VCR and a Video Game. That means that
theater only uses nine of the potential 20 input source labels. To customize the HTR-2400,
you will first need to set the Final Input number to 9 and then relabel a portion of the theater
sources in the setup called HT SOURCE. To begin to change the Final Input:

Turn the Mode knob so
that the arrow is on FINAL
INPUT. Then turn the
Volume knob to lower the
Final Input number. Note,
that if this feature does
not permit you to lower
the Final Input enough,
then chances are that the
Theater Zone is currently
on a source higher than
your final input. Here, you
will first need to exit the
setup mode and change
the Theater’s input.
