An arrow above the word
LEFT will also appear. To
set the Speaker Level for
this channel, turn the Vol-
ume knob until the SPL
meter is sweeping with -5
dB as the center point in
the sweep.
Pink noise is static and the
SPL meter will show that
the level is constantly mov-
ing up and down. Here the
idea is to focus on the cen-
ter of the sweep and not
on a peak or low point.

is the 75 dB reference level.

To advance the chan-
nel selector arrow,
turn the Room knob.
Aim the SPL meter at
the Center speaker
and use the Volume
knob to set the
speaker level for the
Center channel.
Repeat these steps
for all other speak-
ers in your system.
Between LB SUR and RB SUR, the
channel selector arrow will rest on
XOVER referring to the subwoofer
crossover frequency. For speakers
set to SMALL, this is the frequency
point at which bass information is redirected to
the subwoofer. The typical THX setting is 80 Hz.
If the SMALL speakers in your system have a
different crossover frequency, set it here.
