Installing the Battery Module

NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.1onpage 20.

1. Raiseunithandletouprightposition.

2. Withbatterypacklabelfacingtowa rdthetransportableoxygen

concentr ator,slowlylow erbatterymodulestrai ghtdownintoba ttery

recesslocatedonbacksideofthetransport ableoxygenconcentrator.

3. Approximatelyhalfwaydown,ensuresideribsonbattery

modulehave

engagedwithmatchingslotsonbacksideofthetransportableoxygen

concentr ator.

4. Continueloweringbatterymoduleintoplace,pressingfirmlytoensure

contactwithbatterycon nectionslocatedonthetransportableoxygen

concentr ator.

NOTE:DONOTslamorforcebatterymoduleintoplace,damagetobattery

connectionsmayoccur.

5. Ensurebattery

modulehasengaged.Batterygaugeandpercentagewill

nolongerreadzero.RefertoCheckingBatteryChargeLevel

onpage 22.

Charging the Battery

1. Tochargethebatterymodule,makesurethemoduleisfullyseatedon

theunit.

2. P erformoneofthefollowing:

• ConnecttheDCpowerca ble(DETAIL“B”).

• ConnecttheACpowerada pt er(DETAIL“C”).

3. Turnofftheunitforfastestchargetime.Charging

timesareextendedif

unitisoperating.

NOTE:DCpowerinputmaynotbesufficienttochargebatteryatallsettingsif

unitisoperating.

NOTE:Ifthebatteryiscompletelydischarged,itwillfullychargein

approximately4to5hours.Duringregularuseofthetransportableoxygen

concentrator,itis

recommendedtorechargethebattery,evenifonlypartially

depleted,asoftenaspossible.

Battery Time Management

TimeawayfromhomeisalmostlimitlessbycombiningtheuseoftheAC

powersupply,DCpowercableandbatterymodules.Toensurethebatteries

maintaintheiroptimalchargelevel,utilizetheACpow ersupplywhenev er

youhaveaccesstoelectricpower.UtilizetheDCpow ersupplywhenever

youare

inavehicle.
