SECTION 3—MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
MA90 and MA95 Series Mattresses 24 Part No 1148139
CAUTION
Laundry workers should always wash their hands before working with clean
bedding.
DO NOT overload the machine.
DO NOT use chlorine bleach because it may damage the fabric coating.
High air temperatures will damage the fabrics and void the Invacare warranty.
i. Placethecoverinawashingmachine.
ii. Washwithwarmwater(below120°F).
iii. Adddetergentanddisinfectantaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructions.
iv. Removeexcesswater .
v. Setthedryertothelowestsetting(below120°F).
vi. Drythecoveruntilitiscompletelydry.
9. Performthefollowingstepstocleanthecontrolunitandhosefittings:
A. W ipeallcontrols,chassisandhosefittingswithaquaternarydisinfectantsolution.
B. Usinganylonbrush,gentlycleanallcrevicesastheycanharbormicroorganisms.
C. Airdryalltreatedsurfaces.
10. Performthefollowingstepstocleanthemattresscomponents(aircushions,mattress
base,etc.):
A. Usingacleanspongeorpapertowel,wipedownthemattresscomponentswitha
dilutedetergentsolutionofquaternarycleanerdisinfectantorothergermicidal
detergentsolution.
B. Wipethemattresscomponentswithacleandrycloth.
Storing the System
1. Ensurethatthecontrolunitisoffanddisconnectthepowercordfromthewalloutlet.
2. Cleanthesystem.RefertoCleaningtheSystem
onpage 23.
3. Disconnecttheairhoseconnectorfromthecontrolunitandallowairtoventfromthe
mattress.
4. Gentlyrollupthemattresswithminimalhandlingandagitation.
5. Ensurethecoversurfaceisinsidetheroll.
6. Storetheunit,keepingthemattresswiththecontrolunit.
