C interface
The VSBC-6862 provides an I
2
C interface bus for on-board serial EEPROM accesses and user
purposes.
For example, this non-volatile memory store the Ethernet addresses for the two Fast Ethernet ports.
The serial EEPROM is placed at I
2
C address 0xb '1 0 1 0 0 x x r/!w'
It occupies four addresses.
All other addresses can be used for external add-on peripherals. The I
2
C interface is present on the
P4 connector.
