1 Introduction
Add-ons are feature-specific software components that can be installed on a Winterm™ 3
series Thin Client without touching the underlying operating system files located in flash
memory.
Add-ons are compatible with specific Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client CE versions. Ensure
that the Add-on you want to install is compatible with the CE .NET version that you are
currently running (for information on Add-on compatibility, refer to “Add-ons ReadMe
Documentation” on page 11). If the Add-on you want to install is not compatible with the
CE .NET version that you are currently running, refer to the upgrading documentation for
your CE version.
Caution
The procedures presented in this guide are intended for use by system
administrators. Untrained persons should not attempt to use these
procedures.

This guide is intended for administrators of the Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client. It provides
instructions on preparing for installing the Add-ons as well as obtaining and verifying the
Add-ons for the Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client. It also provides detailed procedures for
installing and removing the Add-ons. In addition, this guide provides the Add-ons for

before installing an Add-on. It also provides the procedures on obtaining and verifying the
Add-ons.
Chapter 3, "Installing and Removing the Add-ons," provides detailed procedures on
installing and removing the Add-ons.
Chapter 4, "Add-ons ReadMe Documentation," provides detailed information on the
Add-ons for Winterm™ 3 series Thin Clients.
