• Connection control - An administrator can configure whether or not to disconnect a
user from the server if a user removes the Smart Card during an active session.
• Complete file package - All the files needed to use Wyse PC/SC 2.0 are provided,
including registry files (setting.reg and factory.reg), Smart Card reader drivers, and CE
.NET PC/SC Stack files.
Requirements and Recommendations
Wyse Personal Computer/Smart Card 2.0 requirements and recommendations include the
following:
• For ICA connection support to a MetaFrame XP FR2 server, you must be running
Wyse ICA version 6.3 or later.
• For RDP connection support to a Windows 2003 Server, you must be running Wyse
RDP version 5.1.
• A supported Smart Card reader must be attached to a Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client
USB port.
• Only one active Terminal Server session at a time can access the Smart Card reader.
The first Terminal Server session retains access until the session is disconnected.
Subsequent Terminal Server sessions do not disturb the first Terminal Server session
while the first is connected. Subsequent Terminal Server sessions must be
reconnected if Smart Card reader access is desired and the first session has already
been closed.
• Multiple Smart Card readers on the same Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client are not
supported.
Important Feature Information
Wyse Personal Computer/Smart Card 2.0 supports several Smart Card vendors and
models. The software that you purchase to use with the PC/SC compliant readers will
determine the type of actual Smart Cards that comply with your hardware. As long as the
software you purchase uses PC/SC standards, Wyse PC/SC 2.0 is supported.
Wyse PC/SC 2.0 supports the Smart Card vendors and models shown in Table 4.
