• The MicroTouch Add-on does not work in conjunction with the ELO Touch Serial
Add-on. It is recommended that any touch screen Add-on be removed from the thin
client before installing the MicroTouch Add-on.
• The MicroTouch Add-on does not support touch screen monitors with SMT3V
controllers (fw version 5.80). Generally, these are the monitors that the older version of
the MicroTouch Add-on supports.
• User Interface displays incorrect controller type on the Information area of the
Hardware tab.
Requirements and Recommendations
Wyse MicroTouch requirements and recommendations include the following:
• Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client with at least one available Serial port.
• MicroTouch M150 FPD Touch Monitor.

• 3M Touch models with Capacitive Serial RS232 Controller (EXII)
• 3M Touch models with Resistive Serial RS232 Controller (M510, M410)

Personal Computer/Smart Card (PC/SC) 2.0
Wyse Personal Computer/Smart Card (PC/SC) 2.0 is a utility that allows Winterm™ 3
series Thin Client users to implement Smart Card technology. With Wyse PC/SC 2.0, thin
client users can choose their Smart Card security policies and implementation. Wyse PC/
SC supports the Smart Card software installed on the server. All proprietary level
communication is handled completely on the Terminal Server (only the lower level PC/SC
commands are sent to the Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client and ultimately to the Smart Card
reader).

Notable Features
Wyse Personal Computer/Smart Card 2.0 support includes the following notable features:
• Privilege control - An administrator can create a Smart Card according Microsoft
documentation to allow a user of the Smart Card specific login privileges on a server.
• ICA and RDP support - An ICA or RDP user can connect to a server by inserting the
Smart Card into a Smart Card reader attached to a Winterm™ 3 series Thin Client
USB port.
• Secure user login to servers - Depending on the server configuration, the user must
successfully complete an Enter PIN dialog box or some other means of authentication
to login to a server.
