Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) 8.3
Citrix
®
Independent Computing Architecture (ICA)
®
8.3 allows Winterm™ 3 series Thin
Client users to connect remotely to servers running Citrix MetaFrame. ICA Client offers
quick, secure access to applications, content, and entire desktops published on servers
running MetaFrame. ICA separates the user interface from the application while keeping
the logic on the server. By doing this, only screen updates, mouse clicks and keystrokes
traverse the connection media.
Winterm™ 3 series Thin Clients provide support of ICA technology through the ICA
Add-on. CE .NET 4.0 and 4.1 releases support ICA client version 6.3. The CE .NET 4.2
release supports ICA client version 7.1. The CE 5.0 release supports ICA client version
8.0. Administrators can create, edit, launch and delete an ICA connection in different ways
depending on the desktop settings.
