Chapter 6. Disaster Recovery Plan

It is extremely important for all organizations and users to have detailed instructions

describing the process for recovering data quickly and efficiently in case of disaster – a

Disaster Recovery Plan. This plan should contain all of the required information to guide

someone through the recovery process. When creating a Disaster Recovery Plan, be sure to

include scenarios and procedures for different kinds of disaster situations (loss of the

database server, data corruption, complete loss of database etc).

The Disaster Recovery Plan should include step-by-step instructions for every possible type

of disaster, as well as the server’s hardware and software configuration.

With the Create Disaster Recovery Plan wizard, you can generate and view a Disaster

Recovery Plan for your database server immediately, or schedule to receive it via e-mail after

each update.

6.1 Viewing a Disaster Recovery Plan Immediately

Launch the Disaster Recovery Plan Creation wizard by clicking on the Disaster Recovery

Plan operation icon in the main workspace.

1. In the first step of the wizard, choose the View the Disaster Recovery Plan

for the selected database option to generate and view the Disaster Recovery
