point_of_failure (by default)
The data will be recovered to the state of the most recent transaction log file existing in
Exchange. If transaction logs are not available (lost, deleted or corrupted), the data will be
recovered to the moment of backup creation.
latest_backup
The data will be recovered from the latest backup of an archive.
point_in_time
The data will be recovered to a certain date and time. The software will first recover data to the
time of the last created full backup before the specified time, and then apply the transaction log
files from the transaction log backups.
If this value is used, you need to specify the --pit (p. 104) parameter.
selected_backup
The data will be recovered from the backup that you specify with the --backup (p. 80)
parameter.
Command: recover exchange_mailbox
--recovery_point={latest_backup|point_in_time|selected_backup}
In the recover exchange_mailbox (p. 36) command, available values of the parameter are as
follows:
latest_backup (by default)
The data will be recovered from the latest backup of an archive.
point_in_time
The data will be recovered to a certain date and time. This value can be used only if you recover
a mailbox, a public folder or a mailbox folder from a database-level backup.
If this value is used, you need to specify the --pit (p. 104) parameter.
selected_backup
The data will be recovered from the backup that you specify with the --backup (p. 80)
parameter.
3.7.21 target_disk
--target_disk=<disk number>
The parameter is used with the recover disk (p. 20), recover vm (p. 29), and recover mbr (p.
22) commands.
When recovering volumes, use this parameter to place the volumes to unallocated space of the
specified basic disk. You can specify only one target disk.
When recovering disks, use this parameter to specify the target disks.
By using the recover vm command, you can recover only one disk at a time. So, only one target
disk can be specified.
With the recover disk command, you can specify several disks. The number of disks specified
in the --target_disk parameter must be the same as the number of disks specified in the
--disk parameter.
When recovering a master boot record by using the recover mbr command, use this parameter
to specify the target disk.
