Before installing the product on a system that does not use RPM Package Manager, such as
an Ubuntu system, you need to install this manager manually; for example, by running the
following command (as the root user): apt-get install rpm

4.3 Installing Acronis Backup
If you do not have Acronis Backup, install it without a product license key. You will be able to back up
to the cloud storage only.
The following step-by-step instructions will guide you through basic installation when using default
settings. Please refer to the Acronis Backup installation documentation if advanced installation
options are required. For example, you can install the product in the unattended mode, as opposed
to the interactive mode.
Downloading the setup program
Download the Acronis Backup setup program from
http://www.acronis.com/my/cloud-backup/corporate. To install the product in Linux, download the
installation file for the x86 or x86_64 platform.
Installing the product
Perform these steps on each machine that you will back up.
Installation in Windows
1. Log on as an administrator and start the setup program.
2. Click Install Acronis Backup.
3. Accept the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next.
4. Select I purchased a license or a subscription, and then click Next.
5. In License for backup of ..., select Cloud backup only - license not required, click Next, and then
click Yes in the confirmation window.
6. Leave the default setting in Install to. Click Next to continue.
7. When prompted about credentials for the Acronis service, leave the default setting: Create a
new account. Click Next to continue.
Details. This account is needed to run the service that backs up and recovers data.
8. Choose whether the machine will participate in the Acronis Customer Experience Program (CEP).
Click Next to continue.
9. Click Install to proceed with installation.
