10.3.4 Creating subsequent backups
After the full backup has been uploaded to the online storage, modify the backup plan to set up
subsequent incremental backups of the same items. You may want to run the backups manually or
on a schedule.
To schedule regular incremental backups
1. Connect the console to the management server.
2. In the Navigation tree, expand Physical machines and then click All physical machines.
3. Right-click the machine that you previously backed up, and then click Connect directly.
4. In the Navigation tree, click Backup plans and tasks.
5. Right-click the backup plan that created the full backup, and then click Edit.
6. In Backup scheme, change Initial seeding to Simple.
7. In Schedule, click Change and then specify the schedule according to which the incremental
backups will run, for example on the last Saturday of each month, as follows:
a. In Run the task:, click Monthly.
b. Under Schedule, click On:, and then leave only the Last and the Saturday check boxes
selected in the respective lists.
c. Under During the day execute the task…, specify the time of day when you want the
backups to run.
8. Click OK to close the Schedule window.
9. In Retention rules, click Change and then select to delete backups older than 6 Month(s).
10. Click Save to update the backup plan.
11 Operations with backups stored in the online
storage
When the console is connected to a machine, you can perform the following operations with backups
stored in the online storage:
View the content of any backup of any machine
Validate any backup of any machine
Recover (p. 28) data from any backup of any machine
Delete any backup of the machine to which the console is connected
For detailed information about these operations, please refer to the "Operations with backups"
section of the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 built-in help.
When the console is connected to the management server, you can also delete any backup of any
machine that is currently available to the management server (turned on). The management server
performs operations with backups through one of the available machines.
