12070 Steep-Pitch & 12075 Open-Edge Guardrail Instructions:
General 1)Always erect and use in accordance with local, state and federal OSHA
regulations. 2)Max roof pitch is 16/12. 3)Not an anchor point. 4)Roofing guardrails are
meant for use by experienced tradesmen having full knowledge in its use. 5)An
assessment by a Competent or Qualified Person must be made to determine that the
structure the Residential Guardrail System is intended to be used with is capable of
handling the forces it will be subjected to. Do not install into wood that is not structurally
sound or any structure that is unable to provide a secure fastening location. 6)OSHA
regulations require that employer provide training in the use and care of this product.
Mounting the 12070 bracket: 1)Set swing plate to needed pitch, using pattern below as
reference, insert bolt; match same hole on support tube and insert pin. For use on pitches
under 6/12 set swing plate and support tube to 6/12 pitch. 2)The bracket should be
positioned so that the nails holding the roof bracket go through the outer roof surface and
penetrate a roof joist or other structural member. (4) 16D Nails must be fully driven into
truss using the (4) nail slots. (4) #12 2.5” Screws may be substituted for 16D Nails when
fully penetrating a truss or structural member. 3)Spacing between bracket shall not be
more than (8) feet apart. 4) Use 12075 Bracket on rake edge.
12070 Capacity: One worker plus 40 lbs of materials per each span between brackets.
Setting the work platform on the 12070 bracket: 1)The roofing bracket platform must
always be set so that the platform fits the pitch of the roof. 2)Wood platforms should not
be less than 2in nominal thickness and extend beyond the roof bracket that support the
platform not less than 6in and not more than 12in. Always use construction grade lumber
