Chapter 3 INPUT/OUTPUT CONNECTORS PS/2 Keyboard and PS/2 Mouse The FPC 71X0 series provides two connector supports PS/2 interface. In other cases, especially in embedded applications, a mouse is not used. Therefore, the BIOS standard setup menu allows you to select* “All, But Keyboard” under the “Halt On”. This allows no-keyboard operation in embedded system applications without the system halting under POST.
Network Interface The Realtek RTL8111B Gigabit Ethernet supports the PCI Express 1.0a bus interface for host communications with power management and is compliant with the IEEE 802.3u specification for 10/100Mbps Ethernet and the IEEE 802.3ab specification for 1000Mbps Ethernet. Y Press ‘Y’ stores the selections made in the menus of CMOS – a special section of memory that recorded in after you turn your system off. With state-of-the-art DSP technology and mixed-mode signal technology, it offers high-speed transmission over CAT 5 UTP cable or CAT 3 UTP (10Mbps only) cable.
