• Shut-off valve made from corrosion resistant, cast bronze. Teflon seats
against hard chrome bronze ball provide bubble tight shut-off. Corrosion
resistant Electroless nickel plated handle provides long life and attractive
finish
• Integral thermal expansion relief valve is forged from brass. Relief valve
utilizes a Buna-N seat washer and a stainless steel spring for long last-
ing, continuous duty applications
• With optional 3/8” compression fitting (CF),
3/8” barb fitting (BF) or 1/2” PEX fitting (PEX) for attachment of drain
line to drain water to a safe location

The Wilkins BVEC series was designed to solve the need for a water heater shut-off and thermal
expansion control in a single valve. Virtually all national plumbing codes require a shut-off valve
be placed in advance of a water heater. If the plumbing system is equipped with a backflow pre-
venter or the street pressure is greater than 150 psi, thermal expansion must be controlled. The
BVEC is equipped with a relief valve for controlling thermal expansion. The BVEC will save money
in any installation by eliminating the need for a separate relief valve to control thermal expansion.
The relief valve discharge must be piped to a safe drain.
