Typical Installation
Features
The Wilkins SCI series cast iron wye strainers are typically used to prevent sediment in boiler
feed lines from entering the boiler. Equipped with threaded ends and a 20 mesh screen, the
SCI series can be used for any application where a threaded Cast Iron strainer is desirable.
Local codes shall govern installation requirements.
Unless other wise specified, the assembly shall be
mounted in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instruction and the latest edition of the Uniform
Plumbing Code.

Typical Installation Features
Local codes shall govern installation require-
ments. Unless other wise specified, the
assembly shall be mounted with sufficient
clearance for maintenance in accordance
with the manufacturers’ instructions the lat-
est edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code.
The installation shall be made so that no
part of the unit can be submerged.
Recommended for a variety of water service lines including residential and commercial irriga-
tion, swimming pools, and cooling tower water. They are also designed to protect delicate
equipment such as regulators and backflow preventers by filtering sediment which could
cause premature failure. For steam service, Model S strainers protect control valves, traps,
sterilizers and other process equipment.
