• Pre-plumbed backflow station. Assembly can be of the reduced
pressure principle or of the double check type
• Includes a Model 975XL or 950XL backflow preventer and either
a wye strainer, in-line check valve, or pressure reducing valve in any
combination
• Each station is provided with unions between the backflow body &
shutoff valves
• Each unit is fully assembled with elbows, unions, and nipples, thereby
reducing time, effort and materials normally necessary in a backflow
installation
• Available with stainless steel handles (optional)
• ASSE

Hydraulic Research at the University of Southern California (975XL)
The pre-set series of pre-plumbed backflow stations were created by Wilkins to reduce the time
necessary to install a backflow station. Typically, a backflow station will embody the backflow preventer,
wye strainer, pressure reducing valve and or check valve all plumbed together. Wilkins had a desire to
reduce the amount of labor the installer would spend by giving the installer a pre-plumbed, pre-tested
station. Available with either a 950XL or a 975XL, the appropriate strainer, pressure reducing valve, or
check valve is added to the station according to the needs of the installation.
Air gap (Model AG)
Thermal expansion tank (Model XT)
Water hammer arrestor (Model 1250)
Quick test set (QT-SET)
Local codes shall govern installation requirements. Unless otherwise specified, the assembly shall be mounted in
accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. If installed in
a pit or vault, specify the “SC” sealed cage option for the specified regulator. The assembly shall be installed with
sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance. Multiple installations are recommended for wide demand
variations or where the desired pressure reduction is more than 4 to 1 (i.e.: 200 psi inlet reduced to 50 psi outlet).
CAUTION: Anytime a reducing valve is adjusted, a pressure gauge must be used downstream to verify correct
pressure setting. Do not bottom adjustment bolt on bell housing.
