Any kind of dirt or damage can affect the data on the disc, impair the disc lens reader on the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, or stop the computer from successfully reading the disc.

With USB, complex cable connections can be eliminated. Your computer comes with four USB ports; two are located on the rear panel while the other two are inside the front panel’s multimedia port bay.
