Removing and installing memory
modules
The four DIMM sockets on board accept 128-, 256-, 512-MB and 1-GB
SDRAM (synchronous DRAM) DIMMs for a maximum memory capacity
of 4 GB.
Note: The mainboard supports PC-133 SDRAM DIMMs working
under 3.3 volts only; 5-volt memory devices are not supported.
Contact your dealer for qualified DIMM vendors.
The DIMM slots employs a two-way memory interleave design that
requires installation of at least two, same capacity DIMMs for the
system to function properly. When only two DIMMS are to be use,
install it in such a way that either DIMM slot 1 and DIMM slot 3 or
DIMM slot 2 and DIMM slot 4 are occupied. Refer to “Mainboard
layout” on page 45 for the location of these DIMM slots in the
mainboard.
Removing a DIMM
Before you can install a new DIMM in a socket, remove first any
previously installed DIMM from that socket.
1 Remove the system cover. See page 43 for more detailed
instructions.
2 Locate the DIMM socket on the mainboard.
