To r e move a batt ery pa ck:
1 S lide t h e batt ery release la tch t o relea s e the bat t er y.
2 P ull the batt ery from the batt ery ba y.
Charging the battery
To charge the ba tte ry, fir st make sure th at it is co rrectly in stall e d in th e
ba tter y bay. P l ug the AC adapter in to the com p uter, and connect to a
main s po wer ou tlet. Yo u can co ntin ue to opera t e your computer on AC
po wer whi l e yo ur b a tt ery is c h a r gi ng . However, c harging th e battery
with the com p uter turned off res u l ts in a signif ican tly fa ster cha r ge time.
No te : You are advised t o cha r ge the batter y before retiring f o r
the d ay. C h arg i ng t h e ba tt ery overnigh t be f o re travelin g en able s
y ou to st art the next day with a fully c h arged battery.
Checking the battery level
The Windows power m e ter indicate s t h e curre nt ba tte ry level. Re st the
cursor ove r t h e batt ery/ powe r icon on the tas k ba r to se e the batt ery's
pr esent charge level.

power (for sele ct ed mo de l).
• S to re th e battery p a c k in a c o ol, dry plac e. T h e re commende d
tem p er ature is 10 °C (50° F) to 30 °C (86°F). H i ghe r tempera t ur es
ca use t h e batte ry to se lf-dis charge fas t er.
